Structural Test Engineer (m/f/d)
(full-time, starting as soon as possible, permanent contract)

We are looking for a Structural Test Engineer to support our Structure Team. The Structure Team is responsible for designing and developing the full airframe (primary and secondary structures) throughout its life cycle - from the concept phase through detailed design and testing to serial production. In your role in the structure team, your will push and lead all test activities, from coupon level to full scale and thus strongly contribute to the development and ultimate success of our product.


  • Develop test plans and configurations according to the certification regulations
  • Support test execution, plan and support instrumentation systems using strain gauges and load cells to the appropriate signal conditioners and data acquisition systems
  • Develop and design specific test rigs for limit and ultimate tests by FEA
  • Analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Correlate conducted tests and corresponding experimental results with finite element models
  • Support the close cooperation with other departments like Airworthiness, Manufacturing/Production, Aerodynamics, and Energy
  • Manage testing related activities with our suppliers and supervise tasks performed at external test houses


you should …
  • Hold an academic degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • Have strong motivation to establish processes and organizational structures
  • Have extensive experience with testing of composite structures
  • Have extensive experience in hand calculations and FEA (as a FEM tool Ansys workbench/APDL is preferred)
  • Have excellent mechanical understanding
  • Have basic knowledge of a CAD system (Siemens NX is preferred)
  • Have basic knowledge in a programming language (Ansys APDL, Python, Matlab are preferred)
  • Have a high level of target-oriented self-management with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Have excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Have fluent English language skills
