JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a passionate Junior Systems Safety Engineer to join our young and growing team. As a Junior System Safety Engineer you contribute to the safety assessment of our flying demonstrators. In your daily work you support the system safety team, which covers the full spectrum of ARP4761, with the main focus on system-level safety activities. You author the required safety assessment documents, collect compliance evidence from other departments and external partners and are part of technical meetings to support different system development teams. In addition to your daily work on FHA, PSSA, etc., you will establish the necessary tools and processes along the way. You will work in close cooperation with regulatory partners, other departments, and suppliers. The final goal of all your activities is achieving and demonstrating an adequate level of safety for our vehicles. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to safety assessment at the aircraft, system, and equipment levels
- Coordinate safety activities and proposals with certification authorities
- Support system architecture development, supplier and component selection
- Capture and manage safety requirements throughout the development life cycle
- Prepare technical safety assessment documentation and present the results
- Demonstrate safety compliance to the authorities
- Coordinate with other departments and external suppliers
- Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and methods
- Be part of our flight-testing campaigns and see the results of your work take off!
YOUR PROFILE
you should …
- Hold an academic degree in Aerospace/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Have a natural interest in functional safety and safety engineering and a high intrinsic motivation to develop expert knowledge in the field
- Have gained first professional experience in aerospace safety engineering or a related discipline
- Have fundamental knowledge of commonly used safety assessment methods (FHA, FTA, FMEA, etc.)
- Have fundamental knowledge of relevant aerospace regulations and standards such as ARP4761 and ARP4754A
- Pay extreme attention to technical details and have a high engineering curiosity
- Be motivated to introduce tools, processes and methods
- Have a high level of target-oriented self-management with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- Have strong motivation to establish processes and organizational structures
- Have excellent problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills
- Have fluent English language skills
Moreover, we appreciate if you …
- Have initial experience in systems engineering
- Are already familiar with commonly used software tools such as Isograph FaultTree+
- Have initial experience in SC VTOL or CS 23/25/27
