JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate EWIS (Electrical Wiring and Interconnection System) Design Engineer to join our young and growing team. As EWIS Design Engineer at ERC, you work on the exciting transition from EWIS Detailed Design to EWIS Integration. Within our EWIS team, you will take an active part in the EWIS Development Process with a focus on Manufacturing Design. You will be responsible for the related harness detail and installation drawings and create an airworthy design for the physical interfaces between the aircraft's electrical systems and the aircraft structure. You will be there when your work becomes reality by coordinating the manufacturing of your design, integrating your design into the aircraft, and qualifying your design with ground test activities. You will have the chance to shape the future of electric aviation at ERC by implementing processes, methods, guidance, and tools for the EWIS while coordinating with other systems and teams within ERC.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, release, and update harness detail and installation drawings in 2D (Visio, EPLAN) and 3D (Siemens NX)
  • Create an airworthy design for physical interfaces between aircraft electrical systems and aircraft structure
  • Be responsible for supplier monitoring activities and coordination of harness manufacturing suppliers
  • Perform integration and installation of harnesses and harness support components in the aircraft
  • Be part of the qualification and ground test activities
  • Manufacture lab and test harnesses
  • Prepare and implement processes, methods, guidance and tools for the EWIS
  • Coordinate EWIS activities with other systems and teams within ERC

YOUR PROFILE

you should …
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in the area of your responsibilities described above
  • Have a clear understanding of EWIS development processes and EWIS safety in aerospace
  • Have strong knowledge and experience in electrical harness design, harness routing, and installation in the aviation context of aerospace (e.g separation, segregation and protection)
  • Have strong knowledge of Siemens NX, EPLAN, and Visio
  • Have strong knowledge of EWIS component selection
  • Have knowledge on EWIS standards as AS50881G, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and AC43.13 Chapter 11
  • Have practical knowledge of harness integration and installation in the aircraft
  • Have hands-on experience with manufacturing of wires and harnesses
  • Have experience working with various suppliers and managing deliverables

  • Have experience with airborne equipment qualification (DO160).
  • Have experience with EMI
  • Bring basic knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations, guidance material and industry standards.
