JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate Electric Propulsion System Engineer to join our young and growing team. As an Electric Propulsion System Engineer you define system requirements, develop system architectures, specify interfaces, assist in system integration, and support the V&V of the electric propulsion system. The general work is ranging from requirements management, specification, design and development to implementation and testing for our vehicles. The final goal of all your activities is creating airworthiness of our product. Shape the future of aerial mobility with us by developing our Electric Propulsion System in coordination with regulatory partners and suppliers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and plan the electric propulsion development
  • Design of airworthy propulsion system architectures
  • Close cooperation with other departments like energy distribution, aerodynamics, avionics, and structures as well as safety and certification
  • Development of requirements for electric propulsion system and breakdown requirements to the lower levels
  • Validation of requirements and verification of implementations by tests, modelling, and simulation
  • Discussion and analysis of testbench and flight test data
  • Preparation of Statement of Work documents for collaboration with equipment suppliers
  • Management of our supplier relationships
  • Shape the cooperation with other development and production organizations
  • Creation, conduction, and evaluation of system and component tests
  • Be part of our flight-testing campaigns and see your developments fly
  • Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and methods

YOUR PROFILE

you should …
  • Hold an academic degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • Have strong knowledge about Electric Motors and Drivers, particularly PMSM motors
  • Have knowledge in aerospace standards especially regarding electric propulsion
  • Have knowledge in ARP4754A and ARP4761A
  • Have knowledge in DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-160G
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in system engineering
  • Have strong technical management skills
  • Have a high level of target-oriented self-management with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Have excellent problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Have fluent English language skills
