Working Student Thermodynamics/Heat Transfer in eVTOL Development (m/f/d)

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented working student to join our Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on critical aspects of our eVTOL development, focusing on thermodynamics and heat transfer topics. This position is ideal for a master's level student looking to gain hands-on experience in the field.


  • Perform 1D modeling of cooling systems, encompassing motors, batteries, pumps and heat exchangers, for eVTOL aircraft components
  • Apply knowledge of heat transfer mechanisms to optimize and validate thermal performance in various components of the aircraft
  • Utilize (open-source) tools for the development and analysis of thermodynamic models
  • Integrate CFD methods using ANSYS products to simulate heat transfer phenomena at various components of the aircraft
  • Collaborate with the Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics team to support the design and analysis of our eVTOL aircraft
  • Assist in the development and validation of innovative cooling solutions


  • Currently enrolled in a master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong academic background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
  • Proficiency in programming tools (e.g. Python or MATLAB) for modeling and data analysis
  • Familiarity with CFD simulations using ANSYS products
  • Enthusiasm for eVTOL technology and the future of urban air mobility
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
