Senior Battery V&V Engineer (m/f/d)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate Battery V&V Engineer with a strong aviation background to join our growing team and support us certifying the high-voltage electrical energy storage system (EESS) for our manned eVTOL. As a Battery V&V Engineer you focus on relevant aspects of validation and verification (V&V) for our airborne EESS: You plan the V&V activities in close coordination with our airworthiness team and with respect to the underlying certification basis in aviation. By this, you also support the system requirement process by checking on testability. You also coordinate and implement the planned V&V activities for our EESS on system and equipment level - internally as well as with our external partners. As part of your V&V responsibility, you take care about the Means of Compliance (MoC) and Proof of Compliance (PoC) towards the aviation authorities. To stay up to date, you take part actively in working groups regarding the EESS to support the development of eVTOL certification basis and integrate it into our system development.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan the validation and verification of system and equipment requirements for our airborne electrical energy storage system
  • Support the system requirement process by checking the testability of system requirements
  • Coordinate and implement the validation and verification activities internally as well as with our external partners
  • Take care about the Means-of-Compliance and Proof-of-Compliance to the aviation authorities
  • Take part actively in working groups to support the development of the certification basis for eVTOLs
  • Coorporate closely with other teams within ERC
  • Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and processes

YOUR PROFILE

you should …
  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the area of your responsibilities described above in the aviation industry
  • Have hands-on experience in aerospace development (ARP4754A), a clear understanding of safety-critical development processes, and experience in handling certification requirements
  • Have experience in planning, performing, and coordinating V&V activities in accordance with ARP4754A
  • Bring basic knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations and guidance material and industry standards for eVTOL development
  • Bring experience with requirements management tools
