Working Student Modeling of Landing Gear for eVTOL Aircraft (m/f/d)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented working student to join our Aerodynamics and Loads department. The focus of this role will be on developing and enhancing tools and modeling techniques to simulate the dynamic behavior of the landing gear of our eVTOL aircraft. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge field and work alongside experienced engineers and researchers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and validation of landing gear simulation models for eVTOL aircraft.
  • Conduct research on current methodologies and technologies as well as software implementations for simulation.
  • Perform structural modeling of landing gear dampers for dynamic analysis.
  • Perform structural modeling of landing gear kinematics for multibody simulation.
  • Support the integration of landing gear models with other simulation tools.
  • Perform landing drop analyses of our eVTOL aircraft.
  • Document results and prepare technical reports and presentations for internal review.

YOUR PROFILE

you should …
  • Be enrolled in a Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have a strong understanding of static structural mechanics and structural dynamics.
  • Have experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and multibody simulation (MBS).
  • Have proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or similar.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bring strong written and verbal communication skills.
