HV Battery System Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a passionate Battery System Engineer to join our young and growing team. As a Battery System Engineer you own the requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration and testing of the overall electric energy storage system, including the pack of Battery Cells, Battery Management System, Charging Interfaces, Power Electronics, and others. The general work is ranging from requirements management, development, to implementation and testing for our vehicles. The final goal of all your activities is creating airworthiness of our product. Shape the future of aerial mobility by developing our Electric Energy Storage System in coordination with regulatory partners and suppliers.


  • Develop requirements and design airworthy architectures for the energy storage system
  • Develop technical solutions based on requirements in close cooperation with others
  • Validate requirements and verify implementations by tests, modeling, and simulation
  • Model and simulate the energy storage system, including electrical and thermal effects, and aging
  • Create, conduct, and evaluate system and component tests
  • Be part of our flight-testing campaigns and see your developments fly
  • Coordinate with other departments and external suppliers
  • Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and methods


you should …
  • Hold an academic degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Have at least 3 years of industrial experience in the fields of battery systems and high voltage power distribution including modeling and simulation
  • Have experience with technical and certification standards, like ISO 15118, DO-160, DO-311
  • Have a clear understanding of safety-critical development processes and functional safety
  • Be open to also support the development of low voltage power distribution systems
  • Have strong motivation to establish processes and organizational structures
  • Have a high level of target-oriented self-management with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Have excellent problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Have fluent English language skills

  • Have hands-on experience in aerospace development
  • Have experience in high power semiconductor technology
  • Gained some experience with systems driven by 800+ VDC
  • Bring basic knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations and related guidance material
