Lead Flight Test Engineer (m/f/d)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate Lead Flight Test Engineer to join our young and growing team. As Lead Flight Test Engineer, you are responsible for the flight testing of our vehicles, meaning that you take care of everything required for these test activities. The general work is ranging from coordination over preparation to execution of test campaigns including the provision of all necessary infrastructure. Shape the future of aerial mobility with us by ensuring the success of our verification campaigns. You will have lots of interfaces, both externally and internally, with different competence centers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that flight test campaigns can be conducted safely (including test hazard analysis and risk mitigation procedures)
  • Lead coordination and preparation of flight test campaigns
  • Create comprehensive test documentation like Flight Test Cards and Flight Test Reports
  • Data reduction and qualified real-time and post flight analysis
  • Establish tools, processes, and methods for efficient performance of flight test campaigns
  • Coordinate with other departments and external suppliers
  • Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and methods
  • Assist the pilot in the management of the test flight and manipulating the flight test equipment

YOUR PROFILE

you should …
  • Have attended a training course for flight test engineer CAT 1 (or 2) in agreement with Part 21 requirements at a recognized Flight Test Training Organization or documented education and experience to comply with Part 21 LFTE requirements
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in professional flight test operations
  • Be passionate to being on the flight test field
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Be passionate to record your experiences
  • Be able to train involved personnel
  • Have strong motivation to establish processes and organizational structures
  • Have a high level of target-oriented self-management with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Have excellent problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Have fluent English language skills

  • Hold an academic degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • Have a pilot’s license or professional remote pilot experience
  • Have a track record in aerospace industry
  • Took part in flight testing of a manned aircraft
